Request Summary: Birth Rate Plus data

Request Category: Media

Question Number 1:
I am submitting an FOI request for maternity staffing information. Please provide the information requested below:

1. Does the Trust use the Birth Rate Plus Acuity app for planning and monitoring its real-time maternity staffing levels?

2. If yes, please provide the following data for each month of 2025:

Please break the data down by different maternity wards and services i.e. midwife led unit, obstetric labour ward, postnatal ward.

A monthly summary of the number and percentage of occasions rated as “red, amber, green” or “meets acuity” vs “does not meet acuity/some number of midwives short” according to the Birth Rate Plus Acuity app.

Please provide the data in the form of a pie chart exported from the Birth Rate Plus app-an example chart is attached.

This can be exported from Birth Rate Plus fairly easily, and within cost/time limits. An alternative format is also acceptable, provided it shows the same information as the pie chart attached.

Answer To Question 1:
Question 1 - Yes
Question 2 - Please see attached the Birth Rate Plus data for each month of 2025 - this is for Labour Ward which covers Midwife Led Unit and Obstetric Labour Ward. The Birth Rate Plus Acuity app for Post-Natal is not currently utilized.

To accompany this answer to question 1 please also see the documents listed below:
